Construction is complete on the newest on-campus housing unit, Meadow Hall, on Southeast Community College’s Milford Campus. The 54,268 square-foot building will house nearly 150 students. Each room has a kitchenette area with a refrigerator, microwave oven and sink. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at the site of the facility.  

“It’s exciting to open Meadow Hall, our second new residence hall on the SCC Milford Campus,” said Ed Koster, campus director. “It will mean all students who choose to attend SCC Milford will now have suite-style housing units which creates better spaces for students to learn and be successful in their academic pursuits.”

SCC President Dr. Paull Illich spoke at the ribbon cutting, in addition to board members. Tours of the facilities took place afterwards.

In 2018, SCC’s Board of Governors approved issuing up to $19.5 million in revenue bonds to finance new residence halls at the Milford and Beatrice campuses, as well as a dining facility at Beatrice.

Prairie Hall, which is almost an identical dormitory, was built two years ago in Milford. Sampson Construction was the contractor and Clark Enerson served as the architect.
