SCC to Hold Strategic Planning Listening Sessions
Southeast Community College is experiencing tremendous transformation, creating educational destinations for every student in southeast Nebraska. The College will hold listening sessions throughout the 15-county region over the next month as it develops the Strategic Plan for 2025-2029.
“As we continue to educate the future workforce of our communities, we want to hear from our constituents as to how we can better serve them,” said Dr. Paul Illich, SCC president. “Building upon the success of the College’s last two strategic plans, it is important that we get feedback from community members to ensure we develop, train and empower our students to meet their needs.”
Illich and college representatives will be hosting listening sessions on the following:
- Aug. 28: York Learning Center, 401 N. Lincoln Ave., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 4: Wahoo Learning Center, 536 N. Broadway St., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 5: Hebron Learning Center, 610 Jefferson Ave., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 10: Beatrice Campus, 4771 W. Scott Rd., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 12: Ashland Chamber of Commerce meeting, 12 p.m.
- Sept. 12: Plattsmouth Learning Center, 537 Main St., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 17: Milford Campus, 600 State St., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 18: Nebraska City Learning Center, 1406 Central Ave., 6 p.m.
- Sept. 19: Lincoln Campus, 8800 O St., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
- Sept. 26: Falls City Learning Center, 3200 Bill Schock Blvd., 6 p.m.
Each listening session will include a brief College update from Illich followed by
a guided discussion designed to seek input from community members. All are welcome
and encouraged to attend.
SCC’s data-informed strategic planning process includes an in-depth environmental scan, internal listening sessions, and external listening sessions with community members and other key stakeholders. The 18-month planning process will culminate with a new strategic plan effective July 1, 2025.
