Long Term Care Administration
Program Description
If you like working with people in a leadership position, the Long Term Care Administration program is the perfect fit for you. We developed our online program with the help of long term care administrators in order to meet the education requirements for licensure as a nursing home administrator. In addition, our program exceeds the education requirements for approval as an assisted living administrator in Nebraska.
As an administrator, you are the chief executive responsible for planning, organizing, leading and supervising the operations of a long-term care community licensed by Health and Human Services. You will need to complete an administrator-in-training program according to your states’ requirements in addition to your degree and is not a part of our curriculum. Upon completion, you will take the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards for licensure requirements and your state may require a state exam. To view additional information on career outcomes, visit the career section.
Please note that licensure requirements vary by state. Contact the program director at ltca@southeast.edu to discuss specific license requirements. If you are seeking licensure in the State of Nebraska, please note:
- If you have earned an associate degree or higher in any field, you are eligible to apply for the certificate option. Courses in this certificate program meet the requirements for the core education required for NHA licensure in the state of Nebraska.
- If you have not earned an associate degree or higher in any field, you should apply for the Associate of Applied Science option.
