Program Description

Our Technical Skills Instructor program is designed specifically for you if you wish to combine industry training to teach Skills and Technical Sciences in Nebraska secondary schools. This program is a partnership between Southeast Community College and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln which builds on the strengths of each educational institution.

You’ll be able to personalize your degree by focusing on one of these areas:

  • Architecture and Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Transportation, Distribution, and Logist

Students in SCC’s Technical Skills Instructor program enjoy working with others and teaching others new skills. They have mechanical ability and good communication skills. The ability to solve problems and use creative methods to communicate are also important. They are also organized and detail oriented.

  4. Submit ACT, SAT, Next Generation Accuplacer, or Accuplacer test scores (reading and math) or official college transcripts showing completion of post-secondary coursework in English and math to the Admissions Office at any SCC location.


2+2 Transfer Program

Our Technical Skills Instructor program is a partnership with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication. Completion of the 60 credit hour requirement from SCC and the 60 credit-hour Teaching Option requirement at UNL will allow you to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural education from UNL.
